LA Philharmonic: “The Art of Song” at the Hollywood Bowl


Objective:
To promote “The Art of Song” concert with Jewel and Michael Feinstein at the Hollywood Bowl, the LA Philharmonic partnered with Fox Searchlight Pictures’ film “500 Days of Summer” for an LA Times ad concert ticket sweepstakes.

Elements:
Set to a beloved indie-rocker soundtrack, “500 Days of Summer” is an offbeat romantic comedy that follows the rise and fall of summer love. Fox Searchlight purchased an 84” colored ad in the Los Angeles Times Calendar section featuring an invitation to a special screening for the movie and a concert ticket sweepstakes to “The Art of Song.” The concert received prominent text and a 7” wide x 1.5” deep Hollywood Bowl-branded banner on the ad. One lucky winner received one pair of tickets to the July 24, 2009 concert.

Overview of Results:
The concert ticket sweepstakes received between 150-200 entries and helped build significant buzz for ticket sales.
