Dance Downtown

Objective:
The Music Center in Downtown Los Angeles hosts "Dance Downtown", an event that includes a free dance lesson, open dance floor, and live music every other Friday during the summer months. The objective of Allied Live's work was to increase awareness of this series in the Los Angeles residential community and draw more people to each individual event through viral grassroots marketing.

Allied Live Execution Elements:
1. Online: Posted each event's information on multiple Los Angeles event websites and newsletters including: Eye Spy LA, LA Lowdown, Going, Yelp!, LA Chamber of Commerce, Zipper Arts, Yahoo! groups, Meet-up groups, dance websites, blogs and many more sites pertaining to the specific dance form being taught each week.

Ex: Samba - July 25, 2008

Sample Partners: Sambamantes Yahoo! Group, Musica Salsa Yahoo! Group, LA Salsa Yahoo! Group, LA Folk Arts Yahoo! Group, LA Contra Dancers Yahoo! Group, and Latino LA Calendar.

2. Postcard Distribution: Postcards outlining information about each event were distributed to local dance studios, dance supply stores, recreation centers, senior centers, libraries, hotel concierges, loft concierges, and student associations throughout Los Angeles.
